ErasmusPlus is a European funding program that enables trainees to do an internship in another country. The internships take place in a variety of professional fields and offer participants the opportunity to gain new cultural experiences, to recognize the effects of globalization and to develop intercultural skills.
This is exactly what happened to 5 trainees from a vocational school in Liepaja, Latvia on their ErasmusPlus internship in Schwerin, Germany. The young adults learned in the field of automotive mechatronics and experienced many new techniques and tasks.
In addition to the technical skills, the 5 participants were also able to feel the cultural differences between Germany and Latvia. This included the topics of work organisation, work ethic and of course dealing with other people. The participants got the chance to learn first-hand how the companies in Schwerin prosper and work. This enabled the learners to gain valuable experience.
At this point we would like to mention that Matiss, Peteris, Toms, Janis and Intars wish you the best for your professional and private future and thank you for taking up the challenge.
