ErasmusPlus is a European Union program that enables young people to gain international experience and get to know new cultures. Artis and Dans from Kuldīga, Latvia, also took advantage of this program and completed a four-week internship in Schwerin. The two young people attend a vocational school in their home town and were able to gain a foothold in German working life during their internship.
Artis is learning CNC and did his internship at the Götting GbR carpentry shop and master carpenter André Brun in Sukow. He was able to gain valuable insights into his apprenticeship and deepen his knowledge. Dans, who is training to be an automotive mechatronics engineer, was also able to gain practical experience during his internship at Car Service Sorg and Reifenservice Trilk in Schwerin and learn from the experts there.
In addition to the internship, the two also had the opportunity to visit Schwerin and other cities in northern Germany and learn more about the region, German culture and society. They were given a warm welcome and were able to experience everyday German life first hand. They also had the chance to improve their language skills and make valuable contacts.
The internship abroad is a valuable experience that broadens horizons and opens up new perspectives. The two young people have not only acquired professional skills, but have also strengthened their intercultural competence. They will certainly benefit from this adventure and the experiences they have had for a long time to come.
We wish Artis and Dans all the best for their personal and professional future. They have shown that they are brave enough to try new things and venture into unknown territory. We hope that many more young people will take the opportunity to gain international experience through ErasmusPlus and thus advance their personal and professional development.
