As part of the ErasmusPlus program, four students from the vocational school in Smiltene, Latvia, were given the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in Germany. Agnese, Guido, Matīs and Matīs spent 30 exciting days in the picturesque town of Schwerin to complete an internship and learn intensively about both German working life and culture.
Agnese decided to do an internship at the renowned Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Schwerin. Here she was not only able to gain valuable experience in the hotel industry, but also gain an insight into German work processes and hospitality. Her experiences were full of interaction with international guests and learning new working methods that broadened her professional horizons.
The two Matīss and Guido completed their internship at civil and landscaping company Thomas Dziubiel. This company enabled them to work in the field of landscaping and civil engineering, which was an ideal complement to their theoretical knowledge from Latvia. Through daily interaction with German colleagues, they were able to further develop their professional faculties and experience the importance of teamwork and communication.
In addition to their practical work, the students have the opportunity to explore Schwerin and surrounding towns. These insights offer them the chance to get to know the region and German culture better. Visits to historical farms, local events and conversations with locals offered deep insights into German society and way of life.
The ErasmusPlus program has given Agnese, Guido, Matīs and Matīss an unforgettable and educational time in Germany. We wish them all the best for their personal and professional future and hope that the experiences they have gained will lead to their long-term success.
