Ulla and Ralfs, two young people from Smiltene, Latvia, had the opportunity to complete a four-week internship in Schwerin thanks to the ErasmusPlus program. During this time, they were not only able to gain insights into German working life, but also explore the city of Schwerin and the surrounding regions.
Ulla, a prospective pastry chef, gained valuable experience in the mill bakery and was able to demonstrate her skills under the guidance of experienced bakers. Ralfs, who is training to be a hotel specialist, also had the chance to complete his internship at the renowned Courtyard Hotel in Schwerin. There he learned about the processes in a hotel business and was able to deepen his existing knowledge.
But the time in Schwerin was not only an enriching experience for the two young people in professional terms. They also had the opportunity to explore the city and the surrounding regions in northern Germany. By visiting other cities, they were able to learn more about German culture and society and improve their language skills.
We wish Ulla and Ralfs all the best for their private and professional future. Thanks to ErasmusPlus, they were able to gain valuable experience and broaden their horizons. Their hosts in Schwerin were also enthusiastic about the two young people and are happy about the positive experiences they had as part of the program.
