Today we would like to tell you the story of Rūta and Sabīne, two aspiring chefs from Latvia who completed an internship in Schwerin, Germany as part of their ErasmusPlus project.
The two are in their third year of training at the Cīrava vocational school (Kandavas Lauksaimniecības tehnikums) in Latvia and have decided to move to a new country for a month to expand their training. They lived in Schwerin with other colleagues from school and completed their internship at the Lukas restaurant in Schwerin’s old town.
Rūta and Sabīne received a warm welcome and not only learned a lot about German cuisine during this time, but also gained valuable experience that will be useful to them in their professional future. They were instructed in various jobs and were able to further develop their skills.
But it wasn’t just work for the two of them. They also took the opportunity to get to know Germany better and explore its cultural highlights. The Schwerin Christmas market was of course an absolute highlight and introduced them to the traditions and customs of Germany.
We are very pleased that Rūta and Sabīne had the chance to gain new experiences through ErasmusPlus and wish them all the best for their private and professional future. We hope that they will pass on their experiences in their home country and thereby encourage other young people to take part in such programs.
ErasmusPlus offers young people the opportunity to gain valuable experience abroad and expand their professional skills. It’s a great opportunity to get to know new cultures and make valuable contacts. We recommend that everyone who has the chance to take part in such a project take advantage of it!
We hope that the story of Rūta and Sabīne inspires you to take new paths and face new challenges.
