130 days is a long time. Ksenija, Anastasija, Rihards and Evers were able to use these 130 days to complete an internship as an electrician or logistics employee in the beautiful city of Schwerin. All four come from a vocational school in Daugavpils, Latvia, and gratefully accepted the opportunity to complete this internship in Schwerin as part of an Erasmus+ funding measure.
The past 130 days have been an incredible adventure for the 4 young adults: getting to know the language and culture, making new friends, experiencing a new culture, but also getting to know the challenges of a new professional field.
It was a tiring but satisfying time that could make the 4 bright and smiling. The youngsters got the best impressions as they explored the history and culture of the German city of Schwerin. In addition to their activities in Schwerin, they also went on excursions to other northern German cities. These include Rostock, Hamburg, Berlin and Wismar. Well-known sights such as the Nikolai light tower in Hamburg or the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin were able to experience them up close.
On the occasion of their departure, the Latvians looked back on the good times with nostalgia and will never forget the experiences. An experience that is probably the only one of them and that will rank through many many treasure troves of a lifetime’s work. The last 130 days of Latvians is a story that made them feel special and one they will always happily pick out as a memory. A feeling full of joy and friendship, a reminder of how good it is to be open and to have new experiences.
