The experiences gained during stays abroad often have a formative impact on a person’s life. International experience can offer decisive advantages, especially in a professional context. Raivo from Kuldīga in Latvia also experienced this, who completed an internship in Germany as part of an ErasmusPlus mobility project.
Raivo is currently training to become a cabinet maker at the vocational school in Kuldīga, Latvia. As part of the EU ErasmusPlus initiative, he had the opportunity to complete an internship with master carpenter André Brun in Sukow near Schwerin. Raivo took this opportunity and spent a month in Germany.
Through the internship he was not only able to deepen his technical skills, but also gain an insight into the working methods and culture of Germany. This was a special experience for Raivo as it was his first time living and working abroad. The differences from his home country were interesting and instructive for him both professionally and privately.
What was particularly impressive for Raivo was the precision and efficiency of the German way of working. He was able to learn new techniques and processes and benefit from the experience of his master carpenter. But the German hospitality and way of life also left an impression on him. Raivo enthusiastically reports on the new friends he made during his stay and the many sights he visited.
Through ErasmusPlus, young people like Raivo have the opportunity to gain international experience and advance their personal and professional development. The initiative offers financial support for stays abroad in vocational training and higher education. This promotes intercultural skills and gives participants valuable international experience.
We congratulate Raivo on his successful internship and wish him all the best for his future. We are sure that he will carry this experience with him throughout his life and benefit from it. ErasmusPlus offers young people like him the chance to think outside the box and discover the world. We should take this opportunity to develop personally and professionally and to appreciate and understand cultural differences.
