ErasmusPlus is a program supported by the European Union that enables young people to gain international experience and expand their knowledge and skills in another country. Also taking part in this program are Rūta and Sabīne from Cīrava, Latvia, who recently traveled to Schwerin for four weeks to take part in an internship as part of their training to become chefs.
Rūta and Sabīne attend the vocational school in Cīrava and decided to do the internship in Schwerin in order to bring a bit of international flair to their training. With their four colleagues and their supervisor Maija, they set out to gain new experiences and improve their cooking skills.
When they arrived in Schwerin, Rūta and Sabīne were warmly welcomed into the team at the “Lukas” restaurant. The two were immediately impressed by the atmosphere in the restaurant and the friendly nature of the staff. Under the leadership of chef Ruslan Klein, they were given the chance to work in the kitchen and put their skills to the test.
The internship at the “Lukas” restaurant was a very exciting and exciting time for Rūta and Sabīne. Not only were they able to learn a lot about German cuisine, but they were also inspired by their colleagues and the chef. They were particularly impressed by the variety and creativity of the dishes served in the restaurant. In addition to learning, the focus was also on having fun and so Rūta and Sabīne enjoyed every minute in the kitchen.
Finally, we wish Rūta and Sabīne all the best for their future. We are sure that they will use the experiences they have had in Schwerin in their training and careers. Through the ErasmusPlus program, the two were not only able to improve their cooking skills, but also make new friends and gain insights into another culture.
The ErasmusPlus program offers young people the opportunity to discover new countries and cultures, develop personally and professionally and gain valuable international experience. Rūta and Sabīne are an example of how this program can enrich young people and open up new horizons for them. We hope that many more ErasmusPlus participants will have similarly positive experiences as Rūta and Sabīne.
